The centrifugal millet huller uses the principle of inertial force in which the grains are rotated with high speed and made to hit hard surface. This centrifugal process taken place in millet huller enables to remove husk form the millet grains and the output obtained consists of dehulled rice. The centrifugal millet huller has provision for box type aspirator in which the rice is separated from the husk removed, so that the husk is not mixed up much with the dehulled rice obtained from the output of centrifugal millet huller. It comes in two capacities as 100 kg/h with 3HP three phase or single phase electric motor and 300 kg/h with 7.5 HP three phase electric motor. In order to get best efficiency, two chambered centrifugal millet huller model machine is highly recommended.
Cleaning of millets becomes mandatory because, after the threshing stage, the unwanted dusts, stones, sticks, sand and many other foreign particles are mixed up with the millet grains. The cleaning part was done using labour traditionally. Due to the time taken for cleaning manually and the labour involved are inefficient in terms of cost and output, the usage of machinery for millet cleaning is the right method to save production cost of bringing out millet based foods.
As we are located in Coimbatore which is a manufacturing hub for machinery, the technology and best feasible machine suited for millet cleaning is fabricated with appropriate design suitable for the grains need.
Different types of millet machines are manufactured for both primary processing and secondary processing. Different capacities are available which suits small and marginal farmers, micro scale, small or medium scale millet processing industrialist.
The millet machine(s) set up involves steps to be followed right from pre-cleaning of grains after threshing operations are over, followed by dehulling operations and finally grading and sorting operations. For bringing out a value added product, millet machine(s) set up involves roasting and grinding of flours and subsequent screening of the same.
As a millet machine manufacturer, we entertain entrepreneurs who are new to this field of millet processing and enable them to undertake the project successfully with relevant supply of machinery to suit their requirement.
Millet Dehuller machine to process small quantity during seasonal arrival is of high demand. Hence Small and Marginal Farmers require a version of small millets machine which runs with a single phased electric motor in villages. The small millets machine exists in two models for all types of millets such as proso millet, foxtail millet, little millet, barnyard millet, kodo millet, browntop millet, pearl millet, finger millet and jowar.Thecombination of both the machine bringsdesired output.
Millet Dehuller of 100 kg/h with 3HP single phase or three phase electric motor is suitable for proso millet, foxtail millet, little millet, barnyard millet, kodo millet and browntop millets. It consists of a single chamber in which the centrifugal principle is involved for dehulling. An aspirator is attached with the machine, in which the dehulled grains and the husk is separated.
Millet Dehusker machine of 40 kg/h with 3HP single phase or three phase electric motor is suitable for pearl millet, finger millet and jowar. In addition to this, even the afore said grains other than pearl millet, finger millet and jowarare used forpreparation for dehulling. Then the smoothened output is used again in millet dehuller for removing husk. This machine is also available in 350kg/h capacity with 15HP three phase electric motor.
Millet Mill is also one type of dehulling machine used for proso millet, foxtail millet, little millet, barnyard millet, and kodo millets. It is of capacity 80 kg/h and bears 1 HP three phase/single phase electric motor. Millet Mill machine requires gap adjustment to be done for each millet to attain best dehulling efficiency. The adjustment could be learned by a skilled labour and implemented when using different millet for dehulling.
Millet Mill machine employs abrasion principle in which two heavy coated abrasive stones are used for dehulling grains. Millet Mill Machine is highly recommended for a micro scale industry requirement. Due to its low capacity and HP, millet mill is a best option to be used by small and marginal farmers for processing at farm level.
Millet Dehusker Machine is highly useful for removing the outer coat of major millets like pearl millets, finger millets and jowar. The function of this machine is not limited only to pearl millets, finger millets and jowar, it isalso used for preparing/smoothening the hard coat non-edible layer of kodo, proso, barnyard and browntop millets. After the smoothening process is over, the millets such as kodo, proso, barnyard and browntop, needs to be processed in millet dehullermachine where the actual dehulling takes place. The millet dehusker serves the purpose for seven different millets.
Combination of millet dehuller and millet dehusker enables to achieve very good dehulling efficiency. The millet dehusker machine comprises of an emery roller with abrasive or rough surface. It bears capacity of 350 kg/h with a horse power of 15 HP. A three phased electric motor is suitable to run the machine. This machine is suitable for setting up a small scale industry.
Millet Dehulling is the most crucial step in the entire processing line of millets.
Different types of dehullers and models are available. The millet dehulling efficiency depends on the following critical factors such as:
The double chamber millet dehuller machine is the most advanced and robust dehuller for Millets in the market. It is a centrifugal dehuller which consists of two separate chambers for dehulling of millets and the existence of two chambers assists in improving efficiency in dehulling of different millet varieties, subject to the grain critical factors. It removes the skin of millets like little, kodo, proso, barnyard, foxtail and browntop millets. It has processing capacity of 300 kg/h. The husk and rice are separated through a separate aspirator. It runs with a 7.5HP three phase electric motor. It is used for setting up a small scalemillet processing unit. Prior to dehulling, pre-cleaning of millets isessential. The millet dehuller machines’ periodic maintenance is very important factor for the long life of the machine. Proper lubrication is essential at regular intervals for effective functioning of the machine and to serve the core purpose of dehulling. This machine is highly recommended for millet processing start ups.
Processing of Millets become essential, since there seems to be a high demand across South Indian States and North Eastern States of India. Consumers have become very much aware of the fact that millets are highly nutritious than age old cereals.
In this dynamic era, manualprocessing of millets consumes both time and labour involved. Moreover, the broken percentage and the dehulling efficiency is greatly affected. So,there comes the requirement for developing right millet processing unit for all the millets that are processed and consumed. Hence the processing machinery for millets such as proso millet, foxtail millet, little millet, barnyard millet, kodo millet, pearl millet, finger millet, brown top millet and Jowar at different capacities are available.
Below are the list of machineries which are used in a typical millet processing unit:
The machinery cost plays a major role in setting up millets processing unit for minor millets or major millets or combination of both millet varieties. Four different combination of machinery are used for primary processing and the investment made in the purchase of machinery yields ROI of less than a year or two, if the machineries are utilized and employed appropriately.
The machinery is suitable for setting up of small scale industry with an investment of less than 8 lakhs in case of primary processing of minor millets and major millets. The secondary processing of minor millets and major millets involves value addition such as roasting millets, grinding into flours, blending dry flours and producing a final value added product such as health mix. The investment on machine cost made in the secondary processing of millets is less than 6 lakhs and depends on the capacity of the machines. The investment depends on the processing needs and capacities of the machineries.
There seems to be a great demand and consumer willingness to include millets in their regular diet schedule. Hence the cost invested into the machinery for processing of millets serves best for the millet basedindustry manufacturers. With the ease of machinery available, and marketing support provided by the respective state government initiative to boost millets production, even a farmer can turn into a successful agripreneur.
Minor Millets are highly rich in fibre content and contains a compact source of essential nutrients required for maintaining good health and diet. In order to enjoy great health benefits from the minor millets such as proso millet, foxtail millet, little millet, barnyard millet and kodo millet, a hard coat non edible layer has to be removed. Hence the processing of millets is mandatory prior to human consumption. The most important step in minor millet processing is dehulling, that is removal of non-edible layer.
The machinery used for processing of minor millets are available at various capacities starting from pre-cleaning and producing value added product such as health mix.Traditionally cleaning of minor millets was done manually using women labour in most of the villages. Due to the high wastage of minor millet grains, development of machinery came into existence. Currently the drudgery faced is eliminated with the usage of minor millet processing machines such as Destoner cum Grader cum Aspirator, Millet Dehuller and Grain Polishers.
Destoner is suitable for removing stones and impurities from various Millets like Little Millet, Kodo Millet, Barnyard Millet, Proso Millet, Finger Millet, Foxtail Millet, etc… A separate grading unit is attached for size wise grading. In addition, an aspirator is used for removing light weight impurities. This machine is made up of Mild Steel.
This machine is suitable for softening the skin of proso, kodo, barnyard and browntop millet. Once the skins are soft a proper dehulling is obtained in the Millet Dehuller. It is also suitable for other crops including but not limited to Finger millet, Pearl millet, Sorghum, etc. This Machine has a processing capacity of 350kg/h. It conveniently operates on a 15HP three phase electric motor.
This millet dehuller comes with single chambers and used for removing skin on millets like little and foxtail millets. It has processing capacity of 100 kg/h. The husk and rice are separated through a separate aspirator. It runs on a 3HP Single / Three phase electric motor.
The double chamber millet dehuller is the most advanced and robust dehuller for Millets in the market. It removes the skin of millets like little, kodo, proso, barnyard, foxtail and browntop millets. It has processing capacity of 300 kg/h. The husk and rice are separated through a separate aspirator. It runs with a 7.5HP Three phase electric motor.
This machine is most suitable for de-hulling small millets like foxtail, little, kodo, proso and bardyard millets. It has processing capacity of 80 kg/h. It operates with single or three phase one HP electric motor. The husk and rice are separated through a cyclone separator and the blower assembly. It has de-hulling efficiency of more than 95%.
Grader is used to grade grains based on their sizes. An aspirator is attached with the grader so that the light weight impurities like dehusked skins will be separated.
The output of the millet dehuller will contain a mixture of whole millet rice along with few percentage of broken rice, unhulled grain and husk. This post hulling destoner is used for separating the whole rice from the broken rice. An aspirator is used for removing the husk. Finally in the grader the broken rice and unhulled grain are separated. At the end of this process we can get 98% dehulled unpolished millet rice.
